This document outlines the Local Literacy Plan for Fit Academy, detailing its strategic approach to literacy education for the 2026-27 school year. The plan focuses on achieving the Minnesota READ Act goal of ensuring all children read at or above grade level by integrating literacy across content areas, implementing universal screening for grades K-12, and providing robust family support. Key initiatives include a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS), professional development in structured literacy for educators, and the use of evidence-based screening tools (FastBridge, Capti ReadBasix) and curricular resources (Amplify CKLA, UFLI Foundations). The plan aims to increase overall student reading proficiency, particularly for multilingual learners and students receiving special education services, and to reduce the number of students requiring Tier 2 interventions.
