Curb Well Castings RFP

Description: Rod type service box shall be of the rod type. Upper section shall be 1" steel pipe threaded on one end, and a double swedge to be made on the other. Base shall be ASTM A126 gray cast iron, and shall have a locking ring at the top to hold the box at a desired height. Box shall have a maximum extension of 5 1/2 FT and a minimum of 1" adjustment. Plug cover shall be cast iron having a deep slot for the release of water and debris. Pentagon plug shall be brass with a coarse rope type thread for quick and easy removal. Service box rod shall be 36" steel with a ductile iron yoke. The yoke shall have a brass pin to attach the rod to the curb stop. Rods shall have a brass 9/16", 5/8", or 3/4" dia. The service boxes shall be manufactured by Quality Water Products or approved equal.
