The commission held a public hearing regarding several land use and zoning requests. Key topics included a rezone request from agriculture to residential for a 6-acre tract; a special use request for a landfill expansion of approximately 134 acres; a rezone request for a lot reconfiguration at Tallassee Road; a special use request for a wedding and events venue; and a request to exceed the maximum impervious surface percentage for a property on Manufactures Court.
The Board discussed and acted upon several rezoning and special use requests, including a significant mixed-use development project, minor subdivisions, and industrial park rezoning. Various conditions were applied to these approvals, including requirements for right-to-farm statements, building materials, and landscaping. The board also addressed new business items such as selecting a voting delegate for the ACCG Legislative Leadership Conference, approving a revised automatic aid agreement map for fire departments, and authorizing the County Manager to retain outside counsel for potential ethics complaints.
The Board of Commissioners convened for a special called meeting. The primary agenda item involved moving into an executive session, which commenced shortly after the call to order and concluded later in the meeting. Following the return from executive session, the meeting was adjourned.
